Sydney, Australia – May 7, 2013. Palo Alto Networks, the network security company, today announced that it has appointed Armando Dacal as Regional Director, Australia and New Zealand.

Mr. Dacal is widely considered a technology industry leader, having held senior management roles across Australia, Europe, and the United States.

Prior to taking up the country manager’s role with Palo Alto Networks, Armando Dacal held senior roles with Lotaris, serving as general manager for the company, and Melbourne IT where he served as senior vice president of global sales and marketing. He also performed senior roles at industry leaders Symantec and VeriSign, including senior sales and channel positions to enable VeriSign’s growth in the Australian and Asia-Pacific markets, as well as building the company’s global channel network of thousands of partners.

“Armando brings a wealth of experience in IT to Palo Alto Networks, as well as a strong background in the local Australian and New Zealand markets,” said Sharat Sinha, Vice President APAC Sales at Palo Alto Networks. “Armando’s local Australian experience, his clear focus on the development of the channel, and his knowledge of the wider issues affecting customers will be key factors in his ability to create success for our customers, our partners, and Palo Alto Networks,” Mr Sinha said.

“More than 13 years’ experience in creating and delivering growth and channels strategies for a range of global and regional technology leaders has helped me understand the importance of innovation and customer intimacy,” Armando said. “I believe the opportunities to help change the market in network security are unprecedented in Australia and New Zealand. I plan to work closely with our customers and partners to provide them with the tools to enable applications in a secure environment – only Palo Alto Networks can do that and I look forward to leading the team.”
