Local Gold Coast Sporting Club Ashmore BMX Club boasts incredible result at the
national titles held in Brisbane at the Sleeman Sports Complex in the first week of May. The club acheieved great success at the eventwith 5 National Champions and more than 20 club rider members qualifying for the world titles which are held in New Zealand in Late July.
Ashmore BMX Club President Angelo Lauro says "it was an extremely proud weekend for all of us, especially the parents of the kids who got excellent results which included riders as young as 5".
Lauro says " We are currently planning to provide additional training- coaching options to support these riders to improve their chances of success at the World Titles".
The sport has seen huge growth globally with the introduction to BMX in the Olympic Games and was the 5th most watched sport at London Games across the globe.
BMX Australian Titles Results: 13 plate holders & 20 total qualified for world titles with some qualified for more than 1 class.

The club has recently purchased several bikes including Striders (balance bikes) for riders to come and try out the sport of BMX. Riders as young as 2 year old can learn to balance a bike and the club will be including races for the little ones at the next club race night. Ashmore BMX Club
Ashmore BMX Club is located on the Corner of Cotlew St and Currumburra Rd, Ashmore, Gold Coast. We currently run training, coaching & racing every week for BMX on the Gold Coast which has been opened since 1980.
The club boasts more than 350 members and is a fun and friendly family environment. We have a varied level coaching program that allows for riders to also progress through to various levels and trained by a qualified and professional coach.
The track itself is an open track with more than 20,000 locals each year utilising the track for fun, fitness and even parties from the adjoining park.
The club, committee and members really focus on many areas including: the kids, the atmosphere and the condition of the track which is generally known to always be a leader in design and condition. As an open track you are welcome to ride the track at any time that is convenient to you as well as in a structured way through training and club nights.
The club in recent times has gained access to a Tax Deductible Status for supplying tax deductible donation reciepts to businesses.
The club currently raising money to support several projects to improve the facility for future generations of riders to take advantage of and support the growth in the sport and skillsets needed for future olympians.
