Telstra’s business mobile phone customers are more likely to be satisfied than businesses with rivals Optus and Vodafone, Roy Morgan Research’s latest Business Survey shows.

Two thirds of Telstra’s business mobile phone customers were “very” or “fairly” satisfied in the six months to December 2012, ahead of Optus (62.7%) and Vodafone (55.1%),

Overall, 64.4% of businesses were satisfied with their mobile phone service provider.

Satisfaction among businesses remains below that felt by consumers. In the same period, 70.5% of Australian consumers aged 14+ were satisfied with their mobile phone service provider. Optus lead the field, satisfying 75.1% of its customers over Telstra’s 70.1%.

Andrew Braun, Mobile, Internet & Technology Industry Director, Roy Morgan Research, says:

“Roy Morgan’s Business Survey also shows that satisfaction levels vary across industries. Mobile phone business customers in Healthcare and Social Assistance are the most satisfied, with an overall score 7% points higher than average.

"Businesses in Professional Services, Transport, Education, and Administration industries are among others with above-average rates of satisfaction, while those in Construction, Manufacturing and Wholesale trade are less likely to be satisfied.

"Agriculture, forestry and fishing businesses are the least likely to be satisfied with their mobile phone service provider, with only just over half reporting satisfaction overall.

“These insights are among many available from the Roy Morgan Business Survey data. This survey takes a detailed look at – among other things – business’ telecommunications and technology preferences, and combines it with a rich variety of business demographics, business confidence, business performance, finance, media consumption, technology and key telecommunication service metrics.”
