Business Chicks will welcome Leslie Blodgett at a lunch in Melbourne on Tuesday 26 February.
Recognised as one of the top entrepreneurs of the decade, Leslie Blodgett is a visionary who single handedly turned the beauty industry on its head when she launched mineral based product bareMinerals. Coming to Australia for the first time, we’ve secured Leslie as our first Melbourne guest speaker of the year. Leslie will appear at the Business Chicks lunch on Tuesday 26 February at Zinc, Federation Square.
After joining Bare Escentuals as CEO in 1994, Leslie’s leadership style helped transform what was a local bath and body retailer into one of the leading prestige cosmetic companies in the United States with the launch of bareMinerals, an award-winning line of cosmetic and skincare products. Now, bareMinerals is available in 30 countries, with over 7,000 points of distribution, including more than 200 company-owned boutiques.
Genuine to the core, Leslie remains committed to making women happy; an approach that is anchored in real, open and honest dialogue and in turn, one that has transformed the brand bareMinerals into a peer-to-peer community of its own.
In 2010, the moment every entrepreneur dreams of came true. Bare Escentuals was acquired by Japanese cosmetic giant Shiseido for $1.8 billion; making it one of the largest cosmetic mergers in history.
Leslie will join us to share the story of how she turned an idea into a billion dollar industry and all the lessons she learned along the way.

At Business Chicks we believe that great stuff happens when women come together to uplift and inspire each other. When we stop competing, and start lending a hand. When we give of ourselves and our expertise so that others can benefit from it. We imagine a world where women feel part of something bigger than themselves, and a world where we feel safe to give anything a go.
