Mission Australia will once again hold its annual Christmas Lunch in the Park (CLIP) for Perth people who are isolated, lonely or without family this festive season. The lunch will be held at Wellington Square Park in East Perth on Christmas Day and is Perth’s biggest Christmas Day charity event, catering for over 2,000 people.
As part of the celebrations every guest will enjoy a delicious Christmas lunch and receive a gift from Santa, most of which are donated by the community.
Mission Australia State Director Melissa Perry said the financial contributions and donations of gifts from the public and CLIP sponsors BHP Billiton Iron Ore and Bankwest are what make this wonderful event possible each year.
“Financial donations are particularly important to help us run this event and the people of WA can get involved in a number of ways – they can call us, visit the CLIP website to make cash donations or donate an unwrapped gift.”
To ensure everyone receives a gift Mission Australia are appealing to those more fortunate to help by donating unwrapped gifts to the value of $20, such as:-
- Backpacks e.g., surf brands
- Barbies and Barbie merchandise
- Beach towels
- Board games
- Cody care packs
- Children’s toys
- Cricket sets
- Hair and make-up items
- Hats and caps e.g,., surf brands
- Movie ticket vouchersu
- Make-up kits
- Picnics baskets/kits with knives, forks, plates, thermos
- Popular stationery e.g.,: Smiggle
- Sports equipment
