SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA -- (Marketwire) -- EC-Council Academy, established in 2000, one of the world's leading information security training providers, recently set up operations in Australia. In conjunction with its launch, a partnership was formed with Petersham TAFE, Sydney Institute.

Petersham College will be carrying EC-Council world renowned Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigation (CHFI) programmes. Petersham TAFE is the first university in Australia to take on EC-Council Academy's partnership.

"The courses fit well with our Network Security Advanced Diploma program and the TAFE Degree program. The students love the Ethical Hacker (CEH) modules since it focuses on technologies & strategies used by hackers. There is a popular demand for CEH and CHFI training due to the high importance of computer security now and in the future," said Bala Subra, Head Teacher, Information Technology, Petersham TAFE, Sydney Institute.

While the concept of information and cyber security is not new, what many fail to understand are the complex systems, technologies and concepts behind it. These training programs are designed by leading information security experts.

EC-Council courses are vendor neutral and are structured to provide students with core knowledge and skills to identify network vulnerabilities and weaknesses, enabling them to put in place countermeasures for optimum information security. Such training and certifications will help budding information security professional stay competitive among their peers.

"There's a high demand for information security experts in today's workplace. As people become more reliant on technologies, organizations struggle to keep their company and customers safe from cyber criminals. The global job demand for this sector is unlikely to slow down in the foreseeable future," said Wilson Wong, EC-Council Academy's Managing Director.

According to Frost & Sullivan, there is an estimate of 2.28 million information security professionals worldwide. The figure is expected to see a 13.2 percent growth rate by 2015.
