On 13 October 2012, LWP Property Group will release the first homesites in a very special Precinct in The Glades at Byford, to be known as Woodland Grove.

Situated within walking distance of The Glades village centre and numerous parklands, Woodland Grove is located in between the two open space corridors (or glades) for which the project is named. In addition to these green corridors, Woodland Grove includes a natural creek and a thoughtfully-designed semi-circle park, earmarked as a future RSL Memorial Park.

A central avenue of mature trees runs along the main road through the precinct. Beautiful purple-flowering Jacaranda trees, a favourite of Western Australians, will also be a major feature in Woodland Grove.

“Woodland Grove is all about being connected within a community,” said Phil Cuttone, LWP General Manager – Project Development.

“We’ve established connections with the nearby future village centre; to the two glades; to the natural environment and retained trees; to the future primary school; to the major roads – and also to the past.”

Given its connectedness, Woodland Grove will be the ‘heart and soul’ of The Glades, a place LWP Property group has designed to honour fallen soldiers, as well as pay homage to Byford’s rich heritage.

“The precinct has been named accordingly – Woodland is an old local name,” said Mr Cuttone. “One of the Woodland sons, Cyril Arthur Woodland, fought in the first World War. It also suggests a natural ‘woodland’ of trees, which is highly suitable to the precinct as it contains many beautiful mature trees.”

All existing road names within The Glades have been named after fallen Western Australian soldiers as a sign of honour and respect.

“The aim is to give residents a sense of belonging; a sense that they live in a connected, respectful place,” said Mr Cuttone. “Woodland Grove draws a connection between rich pioneering and rural history of Byford with the vibrant new community of The Glades.”

Mr Cuttone says the residents of The Glades have taken the community development offered by LWP Property Group, including partnerships with YMCA and AWESOME Arts, and given it a life of its own.

“We continue to be in awe of the community growing in The Glades,” he said. “They are a welcoming and engaged community who have a great energy for the events and programs on offer at The Glades, including the huge Glades Arts and Produce Market, held monthly.”

The new Woodland Grove village contains 432 homesites, largely a mix of traditional and cottage homesites. The homesites in the first release are sized between 300sqm and 496sqm and priced from $139,000 – $179,000.

Interested buyers are strongly urged to register for the LWP Advantage Club at for priority access to securing a favoured lot, and to follow The Glades on Facebook for updates on events, photos and general information.

Set among 370 hectares of countryside, just 35 minutes from Perth, The Glades development is country living, conveniently located. It’s just a 15 minute drive to the Kwinana Freeway, while the Tonkin Highway is less than 5 minutes away.

The town of Byford offers an already established community with schools, shops, medical facilities and other essential services. The Glades is also close to the restaurants, cafés, wineries and galleries of the Serpentine Valley, as well as the scenic picnic areas, bush trails, falls and wildflowers in the Serpentine National Park.
