While Footy Finals fever grips the nation, some of Australia’s smartest brains will be competing for the Codehire Cup, run across three knockout rounds starting 23 September.

The competition to find Australia’s top programmers has been sponsored by new coder validation marketplace Codehire, using technology developed by Adelaide entrepreneur Daniel Draper.

The first round of the competition will take place online using Codehire's web-based challenge software, while the final two rounds will be held face-to-face at the University of Adelaide on 27 September.

Students and professionals with skills in a range of programming languages* are eligible to enter the Codehire Cup, which will give coders a problem to solve within a set time limit.

Registration is already open at www.codehire.com/cup

*Programming languages include PHP, Ruby, C Sharp (C#) Java Script, and Java.

Codehire

Codehire is an Australian company founded by coders to reduce the number of unsuccessful hires, which can be used by a mismatch of programming skills, people and/or projects. The company uses a proprietary code validation engine to assess coders and makes it easy for companies to show potential staff why they’d want to join the team.
