A realestate.com.au survey has found 72 per cent of Generation Y are willing to share a property purchase with friends and family.
Younger purchasers are now embracing the idea of co-buying with a friend or family member, as it’s more likely they won’t buy with a partner until their late twenties.
Realestate.com.au chief product officer Henry Ruiz has recommended those entering the market should look at purchasing an investment property first.
This way a tenant’s rent will cover the majority of mortgage repayments.
It’s also been found by the RAMS First Buyers’ Pulse Check that two thirds of first homebuyers were intending to purchase property in the next year believing now is the time to buy.
And the experts from RP Data agree as a slow winter season could be the basis for an improving spring market.
Current lower listing levels should improve prices as there’s not as much choice in the market for buyers.
