Inaugural Moet & Chandon Charity Gala to Help Youngcare
Luxury champagne label Moet & Chandon is set to roll out the red carpet in spectacular style when it sponsors the inaugural Senses Charity Gala in Brisbane on September 8, in support of young people with high care needs.
Featuring TV glamour Catriona Rowntree as host and a three-course menu designed by Brett’s Wharf head chef Alastair McLeod, the black tie event will assist Youngcare in its mission to get young people out of aged care through a ‘money can’t buy’ fundraising auction.
Youngcare sponsors GIO insurance have provided $250,000 of funding over the last two years to help make the At Home Care Grants program possible in NSW, which helps young people to stay at home in the care of their loved ones rather than being placed in an aged care facility.
GIO Insurance Executive Manager, Matt Kayrooz, says the event will raise awareness around the ongoing predicament of young people living in aged care facilities and profile the commendable work that Youngcare is doing to assist them.
“GIO is delighted that this event will highlight the important issue of young people with high care needs living in aged care and how that unfortunate situation can be addressed,” Mr Kayrooz said.
Youngcare’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Anna Cox, says the Gala will go a long way in helping to address the lack of care and housing options available to young people with severe disabilities.
“It is so inspiring to see the organisers of this exciting event getting behind the cause – the Gala will be an invaluable opportunity to raise awareness and support for young people with high care needs currently facing very dire situations,” Ms Cox said.
“All funds raised will go towards Youngcare’s work to creating dignified and age-appropriate options in care and housing for young people with 24-hour care needs,” she said.
A specifically designed and extravagantly themed clear-roofed marquee will set the scene for the Gala, which will be held at a river front wharf location adjacent to Portside.
