Thursday, August 16th, 2012 - Multiple Sclerosis Society of SA & NT

Combine mud, military style obstacles and adventure and you have the perfect recipe for a filthy day of fun. Whether you have a fierce competitive spirit or you’re just looking for a unique experience, the MS Mud Run will be an unforgettable event for people of all ages and fitness levels.

The Triple M presents - MS Mud Run is a 4km mud-filled race taking place at Urrbrae Agricultural High School on December 2nd 2012. Competitors will navigate obstacles including a barrel filled mud pit, a slippery mud slide, cargo net crawl, a hay bale mountain and many more. Mud runners are encouraged to fundraise for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) in South Australia and Northern Territory.

There will be an adult division and a smaller 2km ‘Mini Mudders’ course for children aged 8 –15. Participants will compete in waves throughout the day and the adults will compete in a final race to determine the winner of the day. Prizes will be awarded to the overall race winner and the highest fundraiser.

Individuals or teams register online at and seek sponsorship for their efforts. Early bird registration is available for $55 until October 21st. Regular registration fees will be $60 and children aged 8 -15 will pay $25.

The MS Society of SA & NT supports approximately 2,000 people with MS living in South Australia and Northern Territory who rely on the Society for essential services. CEO of the MS Society, Graeme Warnock, sees the event as way to demonstrate some of the challenges people living with MS face.

“For many people with MS, movement is a constant challenge and they often face unknown obstacles. The MS Mud Run is a perfect metaphor for such challenges as participants will have to overcome obstacles in their own race to the finish line,” Mr Warnock said.

This unique fundraising event has never before been seen in Adelaide and Event Coordinator, Emily Polomka is excited by the challenges the event has to offer.
“Whether you are seeking training for physical fitness or just looking for something a little bit different to do on a Sunday, come down and enjoy the atmosphere, there is something for everyone,” Ms Polomka said.

The MS Mud Run is all about inclusion so if you are not up for running, we invite spectators to support their friends and family with a gold coin donation for entry. Music, food, beer and activities are available so come along and cheer on the mighty MS Mud Runners!

Get in quick, you don’t want to miss out on an opportunity for pure fun and adventure!
