Winners have been announced for Tech23, a celebration of Australian innovation which took place on 27th October, 2009.

Tech23, created by Slattery IT, brought together expertise and innovation as industry leaders met with the nation’s best and brightest ICT innovators.

Attendees at the landmark event awarded innovative Australian company Posse the People’s Vote for Best Tech23 Company, with We Are Hunted taking the prize for People’s Vote for the Best of Innovation Island Award.

Awards included meetings with experts and industry leaders, cash and other prizes. (Full list below) Award-winners included Angusta Systems, whose global potential won them a meeting with senior executives from Southern CrossVentures; IPscape won $1,500 in cash and a presentation to key contacts at AMP; and QMCODES won a lunch hosted by Starfish Ventures.

Tech23 provided a unique opportunity for Australia’s best and brightest innovators to connect and network with the best of our industry leaders and experts across the ICT industry. IPscape’s Simon Burke commented that Tech23 was “an outstanding event. We learnt much, opened new networks and caught up with key influencers.”

Geoff McQueen from Hiive Systems said: “Tech23 gave us more constructive feedback in a day than we’ve received in six months, and we’ll be working hard over coming days, weeks and months to make the most of it.”

Tech23 event organiser Rachel Slattery commented: “I am delighted with the success of Tech23. It proved an invaluable opportunity for the celebration of innovation and gave the industry a chance to recognize and support innovative companies working across Australia.”

Tech23 was sponsored by Industry and Investment NSW and the Australian Technology Showcase (ATS). The event was supported by ANZA Technology Network and AIMIA.
