Monday, July 23rd, 2012 - CMI Toyota

Staunchly South Australian car dealership CMI Toyota has donated a Toyota Yaris to entice record entries to this iconic South Australian event which celebrates its 40th successful year on Sunday 16th September 2012.

Over 40 years the Sunday Mail City-Bay Fun Run has encouraged national and international entrants as well as thousands of South Australians to run or walk the 12km route from Adelaide to Glenelg. It has grown to become one of Australia’s biggest and best fun runs.

CMI Toyota, South Australia’s favourite Toyota dealer, regularly fields a large team for the event and this year is helping drive record participation of 40,000 entrants by donating one of their most popular new cars, the Toyota Yaris valued at $17,990 as an incentive for early registration.

Anyone who registers, enters and pays before 31st August 2012 will go into a draw for a chance to win the new Yaris.

CMI Toyota General Manager Roy Marando says they are proud to get behind the event that while attracting elite runners, international entrants and competitors from all over Australia, provides a great opportunity for ordinary people to join in the fun. “We have fielded a large team of around 50 for the past three years and like many local businesses or clubs, we use this opportunity to encourage a healthier lifestyle and many of our staff use it to kick-start or achieve their our own personal fitness goals. Our staff also participate in Ride Like Crazy and Amy Gillett’s ride,” says Mr Marando.

“Most importantly, we’re very proud to be supporting the drive to achieve record attendances this year because we’re helping raise more funds that support Athletics clubs all across South Australia.

“South Australia Toyota Dealers run their popular ‘Good for Country Sport, Good for Country Kids’ campaign each year and it’s great to be able to help support athletics all around South Australia now too.”

HOW THE SUNDAY MAIL CITY-BAY FUN RUN ASSISTS THE COMMUNITY

The Sunday Mail City-Bay Fun Run's prime objective is to raise funds to support Athletics by assisting athletes and clubs in South Australia. Local Service Clubs, as well as the Athletic community are supported with a donation based on the amount of volunteer help they provide both on race day and for pre-race administration.
