Monday, July 23rd, 2012 - CMI Toyota

CMI Toyota will lead National Tree Day planting activities at Linear Park along the River Torrens on Sunday 29th July and is encouraging the community to get involved.

CMI Toyota is South Australia’s favourite and most awarded Toyota dealer and proud to be associated with National Tree Day having now been involved with a tree planting site in Adelaide since 2003.

As Australia’s biggest community tree planting event, National Tree Day (Sunday, 29 July) and Schools Tree Day (Friday, 27 July) have been responsible for the planting of more than 16 million native trees and shrubs by over 2.5 million volunteers over the years.

Toyota has sponsored National Tree Day since 2000 as part of its global commitment to sustainability. In partnership with its dealer network and Planet Ark, Toyota encourages all Australians to get involved in National Tree Day through their local school, community or sporting group to help preserve the environment for generations to come.

“Toyota has been supporting National Tree Day for the past 13 years, and we’re committed to the cause and leading community involvement. Every tree we plant has a positive impact on the environment, and on the future of our planet,” dealership General Manager, Roy Marando, said.

Spokesperson for Planet Ark, Rebecca Gilling added: “National Tree Day is a simple and effective way for Australians to do their bit for the environment and their community. Toyota greatly aids Planet Ark to give individuals, families and communities the opportunity to make a positive contribution.”

Toyota Australia is an industry leader in environmental research and technologies in order to create a more sustainable motoring future to benefit all communities.

Toyota has demonstrated its genuine global commitment to sustainability, minimising its impact on our environment through the creation of the Toyota Prius, the world’s first mass-produced hybrid vehicle to function on a combination of a petrol engine and electric motor to reduce fuel consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions.

Locals can get involved in National Tree Day through Treeday.planetark.org or by contacting their local Toyota dealership.
