Brisbane, 5 July 2012. Aptus International Services will have the pleasure of welcoming their special guest, Mr Jan Baan to Brisbane, Australia, on the 19th and 20th of July. Mr Baan is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Innovation Officer at Cordys, a global software company, with more than 30 years’ experience in delivering next generation business process solutions.
Mr Baan is considered one of the early innovators in the field of ERP and a global thought leader in the ICT industry, having led industry innovation for more than 25 years. With the development of his first software package in 1978, Jan pioneered what was to become the ERP industry and created one of the fastest growing software companies in the world. Under his stewardship, Baan Company became a Fortune 500 company and the number 2 ERP player in the software industry. In the late 1990s, Mr Baan made his mark as a highly successful venture capitalist by investing in WebEx and Top Tier and continues to exert his tremendous influence on the ICT sector, today.
Mr Baan is excited about the prospect of engaging with Aptus to drive Cordys’ innovations into the Australian ICT industry: ‘Australia is one of the strongest economies in the Asia Pacific region and a leader in technology adoption and innovation. It is a perfect fit for innovative business operations solutions,’ says Baan. During his visit, Mr Baan will be meeting with prominent members of the ICT industry and government, together with Chris Spies, CEO of Aptus.
