SPARKKE CHANGE BEVERAGE COMPANY MEDIA RELEASE
For immediate release
A start-up craft brewery based in Adelaide - The Sparkke Change Beverage Company – has officially gone live on crowd funding website Pozible. Sparkke’s ambitious target is to sell 10,000 cases of their Pilsner, alcoholic Ginger Beer, hard Lemonade and Apple Cider in order to bring the products to market this summer.
The company wholeheartedly embraces the commitment to product excellence and fun spirit of the craft beer industry. One of Sparkke’s stand-out features is the strong messaging on their cans - ‘Consent Can’t Come After You Do’ (a cider addressing sexual consent), ‘Change The Date’ (a Pilsner targeting Australia Day), ‘Nipples are Nipples’ (a lemonade tackling gender equality), and ‘Boundless Plains To Share’ (a ginger beer raising asylum seeker issues).
The company, powered by nine young women from Adelaide, Sydney, Freemantle and Toronto, Canada, is seeking to ‘add to the conversation’ on a host of important social issues.
“In addition to producing seriously great products, our other primary goal is to spark discussion on the issues that we’re really passionate about”, Sarah Barrable-Tishauer of Sparkke said. “Issues that matter to our generation, ones that are centered around inclusivity, social equity, and simply being fair.
“We realise it’s a totally new way to tackle social issues, but if you think about it, the greatest conversation starter of our generation – and most generations – is a social drink. We want to get people talking about important issues in relaxed settings where the real conversations happen – and at the same time get a smile or two.”
Head brewer of Sparkke, Agi Gajic, says the company is equally passionate about producing high quality brews.
“We’ve taken a lot of pride in our product,” Ms Gajic says. “We’re really focused on perfecting our great tasting and sessionable drinks ready for this summer.”
“A brand like Sparkke has to be about more than just passionate, clever messaging – it has to deliver on taste too, and I’m proud of what’s been achieved. The feedback at a recent beer festival in Adelaide was incredibly positive.”
Sparkke PR lead, Jamie Bucirde, says another goal of Sparkke is to challenge the dominant corporate culture in Australia.
“We’re currently a company run almost exclusively by women, and we come from diverse backgrounds and sexual orientations. We’re talking to a couple of men about coming on board; inclusivity is at our core, and we’re happy to positively discriminate for that.
“We’re also partnering with a range of community organisations and donating 10 per cent of direct sales to causes that we believe strongly in.
“Australia’s male dominated beer industry alone is worth about $4.3 billion pa. If the big players donated even half of what we’re doing percentage wise, that would see around a quarter of a billion dollars every year being directed to community organisations who are fighting for a fairer country.”

ABOUT THE SPARKKE CHANGE BEVERAGE COMPANY
Think seriously great booze with a social conscience – the refreshing taste of a better future.
Powered by nine young women in Adelaide, Sparkke is a progressive social enterprise raising awareness and funds for important social issues through beers, ciders and wine – the great conversation starters of our generation.
WE’RE DRIVING OUR SOCIAL AGENDA THRU’ ALCOHOL
We’re nine young female activists from diverse orientations, cultures, and backgrounds, disrupting an industry that is male dominated. We value universal fairness, social equity, inclusion, individuality and raw truth. We’re building a platform for good, for change - a platform that belongs to our generation. We’re changing the corporate code for good.
IT’S ON OUR CANS
We’re bringing a social agenda to real conversations – the ones with friends, family, lovers; at parties, social events, political functions, festivals, or at home. We put our money where our mouth is - 10% of our sales revenue goes directly to support organisations doing important work on each social issue.
They’re individuals - not a demographic, a label, psychographic, or economic segment. They see a broken world that needs fixing and want to be part of the solution. They want to use their dollars for good and make a conscious choice to support brands that are authentically aligned with their values.
Universal fairness - We disrupt for equality, we’re a force behind acceptance, we’re groundbreakers for a new social economy.
Inclusion - We’re sharers, dreamers and makers. We invite the world to join in and we open our arms to all those who believe in ‘good’.
Social equity – We’re a movement, a ground swell, and an energy felt and shared. We’ll create shared value and equity amongst all our members.
Raw truth - We are unfiltered, straight up and electrically charged with authenticity. We are what we say on the CAN.
Individuality – We’re expressive in our beliefs and tapped in to causes that spark our imagination, ignite our beliefs and defy the status quo.
