(Sydney, 22 May 2012) Business Strategy International (BSI) has completed its merger with SME coaching franchise 10X, bringing a new force to be reckoned with to the SME market.
BSI and 10X will assist businesses of all sizes through its network of 60 accounting and financial planning firms throughout Australia and New Zealand and the BSI Group of companies.
Commenting on the merger, BSI Group Managing Director and new 10X CEO Ivan Kaye said that the businesses shared a common goal as advocates for owners of small to medium sized businesses.
“We are well qualified to give businesses what they need to grow and thrive and as a group, we give them a voice with government and other bodies who impact on their lives day to day,” Mr Kaye said. “With 10X and BSI joining forces, we can now achieve those goals in a multitude of ways. This enormous sector of the economy and our communities has long been overlooked – we are here to change all that.”
10X Co-Founder Ms Ryll Burgin-Doyle said that the $50-million BSI Group brings the weight of its knowledge to take the fast-growing franchise to the next level.
“Our path over the past three to four years, from startup to being named in Smart Company’s Smart50 at number 11, to now being hungry for maturity as a business, is very similar to the path our SME clients travel,” Ms Burgin-Doyle says. “We came out of gate firing in 2008 and had a cracking few years, before slowing down with the rest of the market in 2010-2011.
“Now we have a whole new range of services and offerings through BSI’s group of companies – beyond one-on-one or group coaching and business planning, we can now assist with government funded training for staff development or grants, through to finance, general insurance, or even capital raising for the small business entrepreneur with a big vision.
“Now with BSI coming to the table we are getting closer to what we set out to become in the marketplace – THE brand SMEs think of when they want to grow and improve their businesses and quality of life.”
Mr Kaye says he was attracted by the 10X business model and the commitment and passion of the accounting practice franchisees.
“10X has 60 vested progressive accounting and financial planning firms throughout Australia and New Zealand who understand the needs of the SME, they have an immense amount of intellectual property and the smarts and experience to help business owners,” Mr Kaye says.
“As with many fast growing companies, there is a need to stabilise and add experienced management, whether that’s human resources, sales or financial management and even other services. That’s where BSI comes in.”
Mr Kaye has a track record of working with companies who have reach ed a certain level of success and faced challenges financial and otherwise during that process, then taken them to new and greater heights.
“We have a rigorous focus on the dollars and cents and ROI outcomes for 10X firms and we are already executing out plans maximise the value for all stakeholders,” says Mr Kaye.
“We’re adding to the 10X Vision and building 10X as what I call the ‘Westfield’ for SME’s – anything they might need, they’ll come to us and our ‘shops’ will make a difference to their businesses, profits and ultimately their lives. BSI and our 10X firms are committed to our clients and a very bright future.”
Cameron Young, a 10X member and principal of Youngs Chartered Accountants in Warrnambool, Victoria and Geelong, welcomed the news of the merger.
“This exciting news has been welcomed by 10X firms as we now have a stronger offering and opportunities to connect with our local business communities. We can make a greater difference to more people.”
