Perth-based animation company Crewjo, have signed an international production partnership deal in Seoul. Crewjo and leading Korean animation studio Neon Pumpkin co-designed and created Charlie Gribble and the Magic Maps a 2D/3D comic adventure for 6-9 year olds, about a boy and his best friends empowering adventures through time and place with magical maps. Under the new agreement, the 52 episode series will be co-produced by the two companies in co-operation with Malaysia’s Backbone Entertainment. World distribution has been secured by Pixtrend Korea.

“We are really excited to take this project forward with our international partners. They have backed this project from the beginning, and this newly inked arrangement means work will begin on the pilot in October,” says Wilson. “We have also received great support from the Australia-Korea Foundation, Austrade Seoul, AIMIA and Austrade Tradestart.”

“The series has a global focus and we are thrilled to have captured the imagination of both Asian and Western broadcasters and production companies" explains Moodie.

Wilson and co-founder Ewan Moodie are members of the Children’s Television and Digital Content Trade Delegation to Korea, taking place 22-24 September in Seoul.
