In support of the many websites & tech companies shutting down their sites to protest the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) & the Protect IP Act (PIPA), Aussie Rockers Black Label (Australia) have pulled the plug on their official website for 24 hours.
According to band vocalist Steve Mulry "Every voice counts whether big or small in this protest as this is an opportunity to show the mainstream public that this Bill if passed can have a great impact on the way they do business."
Steve went on to say "For the next 24 hours we are blacking out the Black Label website in protest of SOPA and PIPA. If one of these bills were to pass, how our website looks now is how many sites on the internet would look if SOPA/PIPA were passed."
Black Label (Australia), as a band who creates original music and earns a living from it, feels that we need better legislation against online piracy.
HOWEVER, they DO NOT think that SOPA or PIPA are the legislation we need.
