Staying true to its promise of making 3D technology affordable for every Australian, Kogan recently unveiled its new 3D TV series.

As the newest player in the 3D LED TV market, the Kogan 3D LED series packs some serious punch for its price. Fronted by crystal clear LED panels, the series includes all the ‘must-haves’ of built-in PVR to pause, rewind and record live TV and USB input for movies. On top of that buyers can enjoy 2D to 3D conversion on the fly, the ability to play 3D Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 games, plus capacity for High Definition 3D content from any 3D enabled device.

Ruslan Kogan acknowledged the launch signals an inevitable 3D price war as the Kogan series means 3D TV will now be a real choice for more Australians.

“In investigating 3D technology, we realised fairly quickly that the actual technology is relatively inexpensive. Essentially it’s simply an extra infared receiver that communicates with your 3D glasses. This really doesn’t cost a great deal.

“In looking at some of the big brand prices for 3D TVs it became clear that 3D has been used as an excuse to keep the prices of televisions higher than they should be. Unfortunately the public have been completely mislead on the true cost of 3D technology.

“We want no part in this. Our pricing remains transparent, allowing our customers to make their own choice about what technology they actually want.

“Depending on the size of your LED TV you will pay an extra $70-$120 (46”-55”) to include 3D. If 3D is not your thing, we have an unbeatable range of LED TVs offering the same technology minus 3D, all at our everyday low prices,” said Kogan.
Prior to launching the 3D series Ruslan Kogan had voiced scepticism over the true benefits of 3D TV, but as a growing band of Kogan customers began calling for the online retailer to introduce 3D to its television range the retailer happily responded.

“While many of our customers are not interested in having 3D TV in their home, we found a growing number that are. The launch of this series is to ensure we are meeting the needs of all our customers.

“Clearly 3D TV is not for everyone, but if it is your thing, it’s our aim to offer you the world’s best value 3D TV.

“As 3D technology prices continue to fall we see the day in the not too distant future where we can include a 3D feature for just a few dollars more than the cost of our existing LED TVs. We therefore see no reason why every Australian can’t enjoy 3D TV if they wish” Kogan said.

The Kogan 3D Series is now on sale using Kogan’s patent pending LivePrice system.
