Friday, December 16th, 2011 - Wedding Girl
The free Wedding Girl iPhone app was the most innovative, intuitive and integrated wedding planning app when it was released into iTunes in June 2011 and the Wedding Girl team are continuing to value-add for brides and suppliers.

App creator Cindy Westphalen is also a supplier in the wedding industry so she knows what Wedding Girl suppliers around Australia are looking for when it comes to good value, high return advertising. The latest update of the Wedding Girl app available in iTunes on 13 December 2011 has enhanced planning features for brides, and increased connectivity for suppliers.

Push Notifications

A push notification appears like a text message, and can be sent at any time, with any message to users of an app as a whole, or directly targeted. The Wedding Girl app added push notifications in its most recent December update to allow Wedding Girl suppliers to contact brides and grooms, even when they aren’t actively using the app.

Push notifications can include a short message and a hyperlink to a supplier’s website, specials or Facebook page for example. This means that even if a bride has become too busy to be actively planning their wedding, suppliers can still engage directly with their target market. A wedding expo could send a push notification about their event dates to brides in the area, or a jeweller could notify brides of an exclusive discount offer for app users, making Wedding Girl simpler to engage with for brides and suppliers.

Value-added Wedding Girl Supplier Advertising

Wedding Girl has also negotiated partnerships with My Wedding Magazine in South Australia and WA Brides in Western Australia to offer exclusive discounted advertising packages to suppliers who can now easily take out both magazine and app advertising.

A partnership with the national SaySo Weddings website offers an exclusive Christmas special for suppliers to advertise online and in the app at a 60% discount. Wedding Girl is also travelling to the Melbourne Docklands Bridal Expo in January 2012 to offer exclusive exhibitor advertising packages.
