Microsoft Australia continues to show off its fashionable side by launching the next artist inspired Wireless Mouse Collection, featuring bold new designs created by world renowned artists especially for the Autumn season.

To complement the launch of the new range, Microsoft has also launched a new international art project called “The Art of Touch”, and invited Australians to add that creative talent to a global digital art canvas.

The new Artist Series Wireless Mouse Collection proves there is a mouse design perfect for every season. The fashion conscience can change their desk style as well as their wardrobe style with designs created by world renowned artists including Stina Persson, Sally Zou, Tchmo and Skwak.

The Artist Mice series features BlueTrack Technology — the advanced tracking technology that works on virtually any surface — ambidextrous design and rubber side grips, the collection offers portability and wireless freedom in a comfortable, compact mouse.

Microsoft is also encouraging artistic creativity through the touch of a mouse in their Art of Touch campaign.

The project was inspired by the Microsoft family of Touch mice, consisting of the Microsoft Touch Mouse, Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse and Microsoft Explorer Touch Mouse.

“When people think about the way they use a pen or pencil, it’s for writing, drawing or communicating,” said Peter McLucas (PC Category Lead). “But when people think of a mouse, it’s just to control your computer. We want to remind people that their mouse can be so much more. We want people to use their mouse to bring out their inner artist and to share their artworks with their online communities.”

Visitors to the web site can create original works of art with a palette of brushes and effects. Art created with the palette may be submitted, easily shared with social networks and voted on, allowing the artist with the most votes to be awarded via weekly prize draws.*

New effects will debut throughout the campaign, along with special effects created by featured generative artists, Erik Natzke, Dr. Woohoo! and Marius Watz.
