Employee and occupational safety is getting more attention as Recognised Standard 11 was put into action by the Minister for Mines and Energy in October 2010. On 7, November, 2011, Col Joy opened a brand new training facility in Brisbane. With two large air conditioned training rooms built to resemble real workplace conditions such as simulating confined space working conditions, providing electrical switchboards in a realistic setting, and offering a state of the art fire training simulator, a wide range of training courses like mining training are available to make sure that workers and employers are informed, updated, and adhering to the stricter government occupational safety legislation.

Experienced trainers and flexible course delivery configurations can be tailored to fit the needs of any client. Courses run anywhere from one day to several days allowing participants to leave the sessions completely trained and aware of what is expected and required on the work site. Several course schedules allow an employee to keep up-to-date with regards to training while maintaining current job or project duties.

Classes range in level from supervisory to new employee. Instruction is available as well for those who need to obtain certifications. Refresher courses are also available in areas such as first aid as it is important to keep up with CPR methods and certifications, immediate burn procedures, emergency life support training and many other medical procedures necessary to learn, maintain and retain knowledge in case a real-life hazardous accident occurs.

With offices and facilities in Glenella, and course availability in Dysart and Bowen, the new location in Brisbane offers more accessibility to critical instruction in a timelier manner. Built with modern amenities, the new facility was constructed with the new rules and regulations of Recognised Standard 11 and other pertinent occupational health and safety strategies in mind.

The new Brisbane facility is conveniently located at 3360 Pacific Highway Springwood adjacent to near train and bus interchanges.
