Thursday, November 10th, 2011 - Uncanny Media
A new media group – call Uncanny Media a collective, team, business – will be officially launched by Adelaide Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood on East Terrace this Friday (November 11).

The bringing together of journalists and communicators Shane McNally, Annie Hastwell, Catherine Zengerer and Richard Evans is set to give Adelaide an alternative to the standard media group.

The four have many years building respected careers in radio, print and PR honing the skills of getting messages across – writing articles, media releases, speeches, interviewing, broadcasting, making documentaries, training, organising media events, press conferences, and training workshops.

The launch at The Courtyard, 28 East Terrace, is an invitation-only event running from 6pm til 8pm. It is expected to attract more than 100 guests from the business sector, community and art groups and the media.

Uncanny Media has been two years in the making to ensure the team brought to precise skills necessary to make such a venture a success and unlike any media business previously seen in Adelaide.

Co-founder Annie Hastwell said Uncanny Media was created to deal with everything from media problems to media promotion, coaching to copywriting, broadcast and print – for thriving SA businesses, small concerns trying to get a foothold and community groups needing a helping hand.

“We get the big picture and make sure the small one isn’t forgotten either,” she says. “We know the power words have to move and change and we have the right team to make sure those words get out there.”
