Multi-award wining over 50’s lifestyle community, Seachange Village at Arundel, has been recognised as the best seniors living development in the 2011 UDIA (Qld) Boral Awards for Excellence.

Judges were impressed by the village’s clear vision to deliver a quality lifestyle for seniors with attention to detail, flexibility of design to accommodate the evolving needs of residents and development of high quality community facilities.

“Seachange Village Arundel has demonstrated a maturing of the concept of a unique lifestyle for seniors in Queensland,” judges said.

The village’s ongoing commitment to providing the best quality lifestyle for residents has been at the centre of its philosophy since it was launched in 2009.

Seachange director David Pradella said the UDIA Award for Excellence was recognition that the community was at the forefront of evolving the over 50s village concept.

“This ward caps off an outstanding growth phase for our project and vindicates our commitment to creating something truly special in the active over-50’s market,” Mr Pradella said.

“Seachange has found the perfect balance of lifestyle, facilities and security, all set amongst lush, landscaped gardens with resort-class facilities.

“However it’s not just the design of the village that’s makes it so special, it’s the likeminded people who live there which make it so extraordinary - no other over 50's community comes close to what Seachange offers.”

Seachange was also a finalist in the award’s affordable housing category, demonstrating its commitment to providing a range of homes across different budget types.

The centerpiece of Seachange Village is the multi-million dollar residents-only country club, which includes the most extensive selection of social, recreational and educational facilities available in any over 50’s lifestyle community resort.

The community also boasts a large range of energy efficient architecturally designed homes, ensuring a unique streetscape variety throughout the village.

All homes are single-level, two or three-bedroom designs with 2.7 metre ceilings, two bathrooms and include quality finishes such as stone benches, ducted air-conditioning, and fully tiled floors.

Oversized single or double lock-up garages with additional storage areas for caravans and boats are also available.

Seachange is centrally located opposite the Arundel Plaza shopping and medical centre and within a short drive to the best of Gold Coast beaches, a range of golf courses and shopping, and just minutes from the M1 with easy access to Brisbane and northern NSW.

Residents enjoy fixed cost living with no stamp duty, conveyancing fees, exit fees (DMF) or council rates.

The development has previously won the 2010 HIA-CSR 'Best in Queensland' Award for 'Residential Lifestyle Development’ and 'Top GreenSmart Energy Efficiency' Award Gold Coast/Northern Rivers, and also won both the regional and State award in the 2009 HIA-CSR Gold Coast/Northern Rivers and Queensland Special Purpose Housing Awards.
