ElectraNet will upgrade its Roseworthy Substation to accommodate the increased Annual Maximum Demand to 14.8MW for the new furnace at the Amcor Glass Plant.

This upgrade comprises adding new features to the existing transformers to allow them to handle up to 16MVA (previously 12MVA), as well as replacing cables and some plant to increase the thermal rating of the existing switchboard. Secondary systems will also be upgraded to incorporate a load shedding scheme likely to be actioned during under voltage conditions.

This project is on a tight delivery schedule with energisation due early December 2009.
