Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 - Communications Alliance
Sydney, 5 August 2009 – Communications Alliance, the peak body for the Australian communications industry, will this month host a Customer Service Summit to explore opportunities for enhancing customer service in the rapidly changing communications environment.

To be held in Melbourne on Wednesday 26 August 2009, the Summit will be opened with a keynote address by the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy.

Allan Asher, CEO of new consumer body Australian Communications Consumers Action Network (ACCAN), will address the Summit on “closing the gap between the promises, performance and possibilities of customer service” in the communications industry.

Anne Hurley, Communications Alliance CEO, said the Summit will bring together service providers to identify new ways of responding to the needs of communications customers.

“Communications technology is becoming increasingly sophisticated and so too are the needs and expectations of our customers. As a service industry it is critical that we meet these challenges by listening to our customers and collaborating with them and other stakeholders.

“Communications Alliance is bringing together experts from across Australia to inform and inspire the industry to strengthen relationships with customers, something that will become even more important in the open-access NBN environment. This is an event managers and leaders from service providers throughout the industry simply should not miss,” Ms Hurley said.

The Summit is free of charge for Communications Alliance members and $250 for non-members. For more information or to register, visit: www.commsalliance.com.au/customerservicesummit2009
