Contact centre recruitment specialist FuturePeople has won the Best Innovation Award in this year’s Recruitment Excellence Awards (REA) for their FutureFit™recruitment process, adding to the boutique company’s already impressive list of industry awards.

“After winning the Best Boutique Agency Award last year, I had my heart set on winning the Innovation Award this year,” said FuturePeople Chief Executive Officer Linda Simonsen. “And now we have. Our whole team is ecstatic.”

Announced at last night’s gala dinner held at Sydney’s Luna Park, the Best Innovation Award recognises FuturePeople’s development of the FutureFit process, the best end-to-end process for attracting and retaining best-fit talent for contact centres.

“Our FutureFit process measures an employee’s propensity to be engaged and is grounded in the understanding that people’s values drive their behaviour, which in turn determines company culture. This is the key to organisational performance; it’s really about best fit,” Simonsen explained.

Developed in consultation with the contact centre industry over the past decade, the FutureFit process is focused on both motivational fit and functional ability.

“The right person is not only someone who can do the job, they’re someone who will. And it’s this propensity to do the job – motivational fit – that is much harder to determine than functional fit,” Simonsen added.

Accepting the award on behalf of FuturePeople, Brook Foy, FuturePeople Organisational Development Manager said the gala dinner was well-attended with around several hundred industry professionals from a cross-section of recruitment organisations across Australia.

“We were up against some well-known and respected competition, and we were absolutely thrilled to take away the Best Innovation Award,” he said. It’s the first year this award has been a category and we weren’t sure what to expect. To win the Best Innovation Award is a great honour.”

Launched in 2008, the REA aims to recognise excellence, innovation and professionalism in the Australian recruitment industry. Nominations are reviewed and award winners decided by a panel of expert, independent judges from within the Australian recruitment industry.

The REA describes the Best Innovation Award as one that profiles some of Australia’s most creative operators and organisations. It defines innovation as:

  • Origination – the act or process of inventing or introducing something new.
  •  New idea or method – a new invention or way of doing something.
