Roy Morgan Research released the first results from their national NBN business survey, which examines business awareness, attitudes and understanding of the NBN at the CommsDay Melbourne Congress on October 12, 2011.
According to the survey, 98% of businesses currently are connected to the internet.  When asked about the likelihood to take up the NBN 46% of businesses said they are “very likely” or “fairly likely” to take it up, with 16% saying “very likely” and 30% saying “fairly likely”. 58% of businesses see the “main benefit” of the NBN as the delivery of “faster internet speeds”.

Andrew Braun, Mobile, Internet and Technology Industry Director, Roy Morgan Research, says:

“It is clear that being connected to the internet is mandatory for doing business in Australia with almost all  businesses(98%) having an internet connection; and with almost one in two businesses ‘fairly’ or ‘very’ likely to take up the NBN, this is a positive sign for NBN Co and the Telecommunication industry as a whole.

“However, given that only 1 in 3 businesses claim to have a good understanding of the NBN, the industry will have to do more work  in communicating and marketing the benefits of the NBN.”

The detailed Roy Morgan Internet Service Provider Customer Satisfaction Report provides a broad understanding of satisfaction for the target audience, in terms of demographics, attitudes, activities and media usage in Australia.
