The greatest gift this Christmas is the gift of a job

Australian Jobs Services provider MAX Employment has launched The Great Australian Christmas Jobs Drive.

This innovative campaign seeks to inspire Australian employers to provide relevant job opportunities for unemployed Australians.

The three month jobs campaign going into Christmas encourages employers small and large to provide sustainable job opportunities for job seekers leading into Christmas and long into 2012.

Managing Director of MAXNetWork, Mr Michael Hobday said: “This campaign is not just about employers providing vacancies. Christmas is a time when not having a job can impact hard on Australians and their families, so its also designed to inspire job seekers, employers and the community to work together to create sustainable employment outcomes going into 2012. For many Australians there would be no better gift than a gift of a job this Christmas”.

MAX Employment provides a free recruitment service across 129 locations, and specialises in placing people into jobs in industries such as retail, warehousing, hospitality and other entry level positions.

Mr Hobday emphasized that not having a job can have devastating social and economic impacts on members of our society.

“Our motto at MAX Employment is finding jobs, changing lives. We see many inspiring stories of people who have done it tough, but once they get sustainable employment their whole world changes for the better. All it takes is for someone to give them a go sometimes” he said.

As part of the campaign MAX Employment will ensure offices will be themed to remind the community to get into the spirit of the Great Australian Christmas Jobs Drive.

A feature of the office decoration is a Christmas tree adorned with baubles that contain inspirational messages and names of real clients helped throughout the campaign.

Employers who employ someone from MAX Employment will also receive decals to put in their windows or foyers to acknowledge their support of the Great Australian Christmas Jobs Drive.

Also as part of this campaign MAX Employment will contribute to the Smith Family Christmas appeal for every job seeker placed into sustainable employment.

Chief Executive Officer of The Smith Family, Dr Lisa O’Brien, says of the initiative, “We thank MAX Employment for their support of The Smith Family’s Christmas Appeal. The Smith Family is keen to see that children from struggling families do not miss out at Christmas time and a successful outcome for this campaign will see more families able to share in the joy of Christmas.”
