Customer engagement innovator awarded highest possible score in business empowerment and product strategy

Sydney, AUSTRALIA & Singapore, SINGAPORE – September 27, 2011 – Thunderhead, the company that builds loyalty and profitability by optimising customer engagement, today announced it has been named a leader in document output by Forrester Research, Inc. in their September 2011 report "The Forrester Wave™: Document Output For Customer Communications, Q3 2011." Forrester evaluated 12 vendors on the strength of their strategy, current offerings and market presence across a number of segments, including business empowerment, multichannel support, and breadth of use case and application support. In the multichannel segment Thunderhead received the highest possible scores in mobility, multichannel management and multichannel capability, which were “cited by references as a strong feature for Thunderhead and a reason for selection.” Multi-channel capabilities were evaluated on how well the product supports distribution of the same content via a variety of channels, including print, email, text message and other medium. “Thunderhead NOW's capabilities focus on the creation of communications and provide integration to a customer's existing delivery and distribution platforms. The strongest point is a single editor for all channels that works against the main template, as opposed to requiring separate editors for each channel,” the report added.

Thunderhead was also among the vendors recognised for its business empowerment, achieving the top ranking in openness and usability of authoring environments, template management and user empowerment. The report lauded Thunderhead’s “strong support for business-side control and template management” and praised the company’s product strategy as the “best in class for DOCCM [document output for customer communications] particularly for multichannel (XML approach) and business empowerment.”

The report also gave Thunderhead’s product strategy a score of 5 out of 5, and recognised Thunderhead NOW’s “modern multilayer architecture, with XML/SOA support and multichannel communication supported by out-of-the-box web interfaces supported by strong documentation.” Further, Thunderhead was spotlighted as “well-positioned to transition structured apps to interactive and on-demand channels.” The technology’s ease of use was also praised, as the research showed that “any user capable of using a modern word processing package can use Thunderhead NOW.”
