SMALL BUSINESS GROUP CALLS FOR THE RETURN OF THE BUSINESS LUNCH

The Australian Small Business Group is calling for the return of the business lunch. Founder, Terri Cooper, says “There are no negatives in this proposal”

“Businesses should be able to claim legitimate business lunches/dinners as a cost of doing business and should not be subject to FBT”

“This will do great things for the restaurant/hotel/cafe industry (approx 89% of which are small businesses), it will boost employment and be a boost for the economy”

“Any loss of tax revenue should be compensated by the additional taxes paid by the restaurant businesses after their increased turnover, and by taxes paid by the additional employees”

“This also puts small business on a more level playing field when competing for work against large businesses who generally have the funds to wine and dine clients, while small businesses usually do not”

The Australian Small Business Group is calling on the Restaurant and Caterers Association and all related groups to support the proposal.
