SUBIACO, Western Australia – June 30th, 2009 – A local business has bested hundreds of competitors from all over the world by showcasing a local solution to be selected as a 2009 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference Awards winner for Small Business Specialist Partner of the Year.

The company receiving the distinction is Evolve IT Australia, a business solutions company based in Victoria with a branch office in Subiaco, WA, which is the particular business unit responsible for developing the winning solution.

Evolve IT’s winning business solution improves the operations of Australian rules football clubs in Western Australia, enabling better management of the various club resources which are, of course, not limited to on-field concerns. Evolve IT’s team recognised the industry’s need for a more modern approach to handling football club staff, resources and data since the traditional methods were still very much dependent on manual management, which was inefficient and had a great propensity for errors.

The award, which is one among 25 other categories honored at the software giant’s annual Worldwide Partner Conference, is given to a company that has used Microsoft technology in innovative ways to deliver integration solutions that serve customers in the small- to medium-size-business market segment.

“Having the opportunity to change the way all clubs in an entire league operate was a very exciting prospect,” said Clayton Moulynox, Evolve IT’s General Manager based in the Subiaco office. “Here was a bunch of businesses that were on a very level playing field in terms of technology, and we were about to give them a fantastic infrastructure to give them the opportunity to be more innovative and create a competitive advantage.”

Evolve IT’s solution utilised Microsoft software like the Microsoft Office 2007 suite, Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 R2, and Microsoft Windows Vista Business. The solution was noteworthy to the awards committee due to its innovative integration into a business that is not traditionally driven by technology, but instead by on-field success. It demonstrates how it provides ways for small or midsize businesses to better connect with customers, other business professionals and employees by enhancing business processes, productivity, security, and IT infrastructure management, and by reducing costs.

“Evolve IT has been a leading small business specialist that delivers solid small and midsize business solutions to support their customer’s business operations,” said Suresh Kalpathy, Regional Director, Partner Strategy & Marketing, Microsoft Asia Pacific. “Microsoft is proud to recognize Evolve IT as the Small Business Specialist Partner of the Year. Evolve IT has created innovative productivity and security solutions that have helped their customers launch networking infrastructure deployments with Microsoft Windows Small Business Server. Evolve IT focuses on their client’s business problems, and not solely on their computer problems, which has led to highly satisfied customers.”

Evolve IT is naturally honoured and thrilled to receive such an award, which is the biggest feather in their cap to date in their 16-year career of providing effective and innovative technology solutions for its various clients. The company won the equivalent Award at the Microsoft Australian Partner Conference in 2007 and was a finalist in 2008.

Moulynox said the award was great confirmation that his company is delivering world class, innovative solutions in the small and medium business space. “It’s been no overnight success. It’s required hard work and we’ve taken some calculated risks with investments and with the services we are taking to particular markets, but awards like this make us confident we’re heading in the right direction and offering great value to our customers.”

However, the buck does not stop there, of course, as the company promises to continue to grow and exceed this accomplishment.

Melbourne based Managing Director, Nick Moran, said “The financial crisis has certainly made us stop and reflect on what is important to our customers and what helps them be successful. We think we are poised now to firmly establish ourselves as leaders in technology solutions in the SMB space and to really have some greater penetration in to the market, especially in Western Australia, in the coming financial year”.

The award will be presented at the Worldwide Partner Conference in New Orleans on July 13th. Clayton Moulynox and Nick Moran will be attending the event.

The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference Awards recognize Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based solutions over the last year.
