The Jeays Street Community Centre at Bowen Hills in Brisbane is inviting everyone to attend its inaugural Open Day on Monday the 19th September, from 1.30pm to 4pm.

Red Cross Service Development and Delivery Manager, Maryanne Riek says “The aim of the Open Day is to promote the many activities held at the centre and provide information on volunteer opportunities.

“Brisbane City Council provides access to the Jeays Street Community Centre with the expectation that Red Cross will provide social activities for people in the local community”.

”Bowen Hills has a large number of public housing tenants, many of whom benefit from involvement in the community based recreation, leisure and social activities provided by Red Cross.

“We also encourage older people to get better connected in their community.”
