Wavelength International has recently launched a new cloud-based HR performance management system, Sonar6, to enhance the management of staff performance in a co-ordinated fashion across its business.
Wavelength director Dr. John Bethell said, “In the past, managers have wrestled with multiple spreadsheets to keep track of staff performance. Version control was a major issue, particularly when objectives that were set at the executive level had to be reflected on all staff KRAs. With Sonar6 it has become effortless to align everyone in the business to the overall company strategy.”
Sonar6 provides managers with a helicopter view of how all staff compare to their peers and against their own historical performance.
“This has revolutionized the way we identify talent at the top end of the business and those that are struggling at the lower end,” says Kellie Egan, HR Manager at Wavelength. “We can easily review all employees on a talent matrix and produce meaningful reports within minutes. We are able to respond in real time to the needs of staff to help them grow and develop their careers.”
Wavelength International place people at the top of their priority list when is comes to investment. “We have always viewed our staff as our most valuable asset,” says Claire Ponsford, director. “It makes sense to us to ensure that our team are not only happy at work but as productive as they can be – no one comes to work to be mediocre and we are constantly striving to give employees the optimal chance of success.”
Wavelength International has certainly backed up its claims of caring about its staff with some impressive awards in the last 12 months including a “Best Learning and Development Award” at the Recruitment Extra Awards, an Australian Business Award as a “Recommended Employer” and a top 30 placing 2 years in a row on the BRW “Great Place to Work” list.
“These accolades are certainly flattering,” say John Bethell, “but we see them as a bi-product of our constant commitment to staff development. At Wavelength we have 2 full time HR staff for 60 Staff - that is a 1:30 ratio. Most companies have a 1:120 ratio in their HR function and some large recruitment companies boast about having none.”
Wavelength International is a niche multi-award winning medical recruitment company based in Sydney, Australia. Founded in 1999 by Co-Directors Dr. John Bethell and Claire Ponsford, the company focuses on excellence in recruiting doctors for its Australian, New Zealand and international clients. The business has grown an average of 30% per annum since launch and now has over 60 FTE staff.
