Vast Interior is forging a name for itself as an original facilitator of individual style in home fashion.

A new homewares and textile range handpicked from India and designed exclusively for Vast Interior is due in Australian and New Zealand stores in July. The new winter collection is expected to charm those with a keen eye for cultural designs, tailor made elegance or unusual statement pieces.

Vast Interior’s unique position in the market has always been its infinite product variety sourced by individual buyers who travel the globe searching for original pieces and quality designs. This ensures that every Vast store is different and customers can always count on discovering an array of cultural designs for the home.

With new products hitting the stores every six weeks, Vast Interior’s product development coordinator Helena Sharp is constantly on the lookout for new textile and homeware combinations on behalf of the 40 individual stores around Australia and New Zealand. However, this is the first time an entire collection will be introduced that is not available from any other Australasian retailer – all designs have been manufactured exclusively for Vast Interior.

Working with some of the most respected international textile designers and manufacturers in India Halena’s task was to coordinate and design a range that captured the ‘Vast style’ - unique in its design yet universal enough to be the common thread throughout the stores eclectic homewares range.

“The Winter Collection 2009 embodies the cultures, the uniqueness, and the colours that immerse all those that travel to India. By bringing these treasures to Vast Interior enables every customer to experience that slice of culture, uniqueness, and colour and emulate that in their own home.”

“The Vast Interior style is for people who love their homes and are not afraid to reflect their individual style so it’s great to be able share my passion for eastern inspired beautiful homewares with our customers in our new collection.” Ms Sharp said.

Trend setters in global home fashion

Homewares and textile collections at Vast Interior have always been about re-enforcing individuality. Globally influenced texture and intricate detailing have long been a signature trait of Vast Interior’s eastern inspired ranges.

“Winter trends in home fashion this year surround aesthetics, full bodied colours and nature influences. Warm rich colours have been a popular theme through previous autumn and winter seasons, and this has remained ever present within in our winter 09 collection.”

“By combining distinctive mediums such as hand stitched cushions, etched antique nickel lanterns, and camel leather notebooks the new range has every style covered”

Contact Profile

Vast Interior Homewares

From the opening of the first store in Toormina, Coffs Harbour in 1999, Founder and CEO, Ross Clayton, combined his passions of travel, community involvement and furniture design. The idea was to create a unique imported furniture and homewares store that maximised economies of scale to deliver exclusive design and functionality at a great price-point. Vast Interior now has over 40 stores throughout the East Coast of Australia, and New Zealand (Christchurch and Wellington).

Vast Interior stores operate successfully in a niche market offering high quality furniture to consumers at reasonable prices. We supply a fantastic array of interesting and beautiful pieces, blending exotic cultures and eclectic style from locations including India, China, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Vast Interior capitalizes on its history of success and the high demand for its products in Australia and New Zealand by continuing to focus on its areas of expertise and reputation for high quality unique products at affordable prices.

Vast Interior products are “lifestyle” products. We promote “high perceived value” by selling premium quality exotic and unique furniture and home wares to consumers who enjoy an above average degree of purchasing power and lifestyle.

The markets in which Vast Interior stores operate tend to be localized to certain regions, so the nature of our competition depends to a significant degree on a particular location and a number of variables within it (such as the kind of substitutes that may exist for Vast Interior products in terms of relative quality, style and price).

At Vast Interior we are conscious about the environment and our choice of timbers reflect this. We use recycled timbers where possible and also plantation and salvaged timbers.
