Award winning Queensland based second skin technology company, Microskin, have signed an agreement with global brand development consulting firm Riley-Nacht to promote their products world-wide.

The agreement will cover a number of initiatives delivered across a three-stage process.

Microskin are the developers of a simulated skin which can be used to alleviate the aesthetic disabilities associated with burns, scarring and a number of disfiguring skin conditions.

Managing director Barry Lowndes says the company has spent eight years perfecting the product that can be individually colour-corrected to different patients’ skin, and the agreement is a major step forward.

“Riley-Nacht are one of the best-known brand development companies for skin care products in the world and will bring a wealth of expertise and experience to promote our range,” Mr Lowndes says.

“The first stage of our agreement will include assisting with raising funds for Microskin in the United States and represent us at important calendar events such as the American Academy of Dermatology this week, the largest of its kind in the world.

“They will also provide a range of product advice, safety and stability testing, brand and market development and infomercial production through one of the country’s most successful companies in this area.”

The second stage of the agreement will include engaging with cosmetic pharmaceutical companies and negotiating multiple license agreements to use the Microskin technology.

The final stage will include advising the company of its longer-term potential including the investigation of listing and trade sale opportunities.

Riley-Nacht was founded by Les Riley, who has over thirty years of experience in the pharmaceutical and skin care industries, including seventeen years with Johnson & Johnson Co., Inc.; and Dr. Sergio Nacht, a skin biologist with 35 years of commercial experience including work with Procter & Gamble.

Microskin has already achieved a track record of success overseas with a number of initiatives in the UK and a major clinic opening in New York.

The New York clinic has also proposed to establish a master franchise arrangement for the US that is currently being considered by Microskin.

The company has also recently launched its second skin technology in a spray-on can for a broader consumer market.
