A new community care service from supported living providers Tall Trees has been launched to the wider community, offering the same level of quality care that it already provides to its residents.

Tall Trees Community Care (TTCC) provides the care and support services that allows a person no matter their age, health or disability to continue to live their life to the full while still living at home.

TTCC coordinator Ann Bingham says community care is currently being offered by a number of organisations, either not-for-profit or aligned with private nursing homes, however this is the first time the service has been offered by a supported living provider.

“The supported living model is not a traditional aged care home or a traditional retirement village so we have a unique perspective on the needs of our clients,” Ms Bingham says.

“In a supported living neighbourhood you can choose how you'd like to live, and you have the freedom to change the level of supported living services you receive whenever you want, and the same philosophy applies to our community care service.

“Far too often the elderly that need help are forced to settle for a cookie cutter service, regardless of their requirements, and Tall Trees Community Care aims to establish a new benchmark in regard to this issue.”

Ms Bingham says the service will also go a long way in relieving the current burden of community care cost shared between the Commonwealth and State governments.

“Providing care in a person's own home specifically to their needs is important, and this is something we have been very conscious of as a key differentiator over other services,” Ms Bingham says.

“Rather than offering a blanket approach that suits the majority of providers, we offer a tailored service while maintaining high levels of accountability and quality.

“Home care not only allows clinical needs to be met but also other care and support services needs to be provided that will allow the client to maintain their privacy, independence, feeling of security and a sense of stability all within the comfort of their own home.”

Ms Bingham says TTCC is already being enjoyed by a number of their residents, so it wasn’t too much of a stretch to be able to offer the same quality service to those not living within a Tall Trees neighbourhood.

“We pride ourselves on providing only the best professionals in nursing care and not only meet stringent industry standards, but in most cases exceed them,” Ms Bingham says.

Tall Trees Community Care provides services such as domestic assistance, personal care as well as professional allied health care and nursing services.

Potential clients can be referred by phone or confidential fax and medical practitioner or hospital discharge referrals are attended to immediately.

The care coordinator will then visit the client in their home or hospital at no cost and assess their care and support needs and discuss them with their primary carer.

Tall Trees Community Care coordinators take care to thoroughly assess clients' needs before establishing a personalised care plan to meet their requirements.

Before being employed by Tall Trees Community Care all perspective staff are comprehensively screened and evaluated to ensure they have the highest levels of honesty, integrity, professional ability and devotion to providing the best possible care.

Once employed all staff undergo thorough initial and ongoing training along with continuing evaluation to ensure sure they are properly prepared and committed to providing clients with the most up to date and highest standards of care.

Tall Trees Community Care also strives to ensure the carer supporting the client has a personality that is compatible and wherever possible there is continuity.

Tall Trees Community Care and support services are able to assist the client with all aspects of their health and welfare needs 24 hours a day 365 days per year, individually customised ranging from one hour through to full 24 hour care.
